ATKINS, Va.
Stuart W. "Stewey" Surber, age 47, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at his home. Stewey had the biggest heart for anybody and everybody. He'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved video games and listening to his metal and rap music. Stewey was the best little brother, uncle and friend. He took care of his family, even when he was sick. They just don't make'em like Stewey anymore. He was a builder for more than 20 years, and was part of the crew that built Comfort Inn in Wytheville. Stewey will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jr. and Bertha Wyatt Surber.
Stewey is survived by his sisters, Tina Powell of Atkins, Va., Lisa Dotson and husband, Junior of Meadowview, Va., Shirley Dotson and husband, Johnny of Marion, Va., Kay McGraw of Chickamauga, Ga., and Dorothy Atkins of Daleville, Va.; brother, Jeff Surber of Rossville, Ga.; special aunt, Juanita Wargo; special cousin who was like a sister, Ann Wargo; special nephew of the home, Joel Cregger; special nephews and niece, Michael Dotson, Justin Dotson, Johnny Dotson and Brittany Havens; beloved great-niece, McKenzie Cregger; several other loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and faithful fur-baby, Snickers.
