Thelma Houck

MARION, VIRGNIA: THELMA R. TIBBS HOUCK, age 86, widow of Willie G. Houck, Sr., died Monday, June 14, 2004 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ron Berry of Chilhowie, Virginia. One son and daughter-in-law, Willie G. Jr. and Shirley Houck of Richmond, Virginia. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Ruth Tibbs of Seale, Alabama, and Joe and Mae Tibbs of Maidens, Virginia. Four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Larry Arnold and wife, Phyllis of Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Valley Health Care Nursing Home and Johnston Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at First Church of God, Atkins, Virginia. Burial will follow in Wassum Cemetery, Atkins, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
