THOMAS BAKER "CUB" CULLOP, JR., age 88, died Friday, May 05, 2017 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.
Mr. Cullop was a member of the Mount Zion Methodist Church since he was four years old. He was a loving husband to Louise for almost 60 years; a loving father to his boys, and a caring grandpa to his grandchildren. He and Louise cared for many families through the years as caretakers of the Mount Zion Cemetery. His last birthday, he was so proud of turning 88, and being only 12 years away from 100. Cub will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Alverdia Cullop; sisters, Virginia Gillenwater and Myrtle Hall; and brothers, Eugene, Roy and Ed Cullop.
Cub is survived by his wife, Louise Snider Cullop; sons, Thomas B. Cullop, III and wife, Joyce Gray Cullop and Jefferey A. Cullop and wife, Donna Blevins Cullop, all of Marion, Va.; three grandchildren, Heather Staley and husband, Nathan of Salem, Va., Tanner Cullop and Bakker Cullop, both of Marion, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Reid Staley; and several nieces and nephews.
