MARION, VIRGINIA: THOMAS HILKER RODGERS, age 65, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Mr. Rodgers was an Eagle Scout, and had served as a Scout Master for many years. He was employed by the state of Virginia as an Environmental Chemical Engineer. He was also an active member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Donna Harnisch Rodgers of Marion, Virginia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori Ann and Eddie Haga of Marion, Virginia and Anisa Leigh and Brian Claffey of Norfolk, Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, David James and Theresa Royce Rodgers of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Ivy Schmude and Nancy Dewey both of Illinois; one brother, Robert Rodgers, Jr. of Klickitat, Washington; five grandchildren, Treemont Haga, Cayla Haga, Bridgette Rodgers, Gabriella Rodgers, Ian Royce; one nephew also survives.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Marion, Virginia at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Maier officiating. Burial will follow in the church columbarium. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
