MARION, VIRGINIA: VIRGIE WILLIAMS HUBBLE passed away at her home on February 2, 2010 at the age of 102 years, 11 months and 351 days.
Virgie was born February 16, 1907. She retired from Burlington Hoisery Mills with 33 years of service. She loved crocheting and tatting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Musser Williams and Frank J. Williams; her husband, Otis Hubble; a grandchild, Cheryl Lynn Atkins; a sister, Pearl Mercer; and a brother Frank J. Williams.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Atkins Stevenson and husband Dennie; one granddaughter, Pamela Atkins Davis and husband Ralph; one grandson Reber Joseph Atkins III and wife Sherry; two great-granddaughters, Brandy Davis Nichols and husband Mike and Candace Atkins Seymour and husband Michael; two great-great-granddaughters, Willow Ann Nichols and Aislin Josephine Seymour and a special nephew who was like a son, Sherman Mercer and wife Penny and their children Debbie Peake and Janice Moore.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
