MARION, Va.: WILLIAM “BILL” PARIS BAILEY, age 94, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion Va.
Bill was a member of Marion Baptist Church and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for numerous years. He was employed with Brunswick Corporation as Senior Buyer in the defense division. Bill honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved his God, family, country and his favorite game of golf. Bill also enjoyed watching his number one team in football, ‘Alabama.’
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Sayers Bailey; and parents, Floyd Richard and Donnie Celeste Bailey.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his sons, William P. Bailey, II and wife, Linda Haulsee Bailey of Talbott, Tn., and Dennis Wayne Bailey of Abingdon, Va.; grandchild, William Rodger Bailey; great-grandchild, William Aaron Bailey; great-great-grandchild, William Carson Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 12 noon at Marion Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Slater officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667 and the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard. Graveside services will be private. The family will receive friends Friday at Marion Baptist Church from 11a.m. until the time of service.
