CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: WILLIAM WADE COMER, age 82, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home in Chilhowie, Virginia.
Mr. Comer was of the Baptist faith. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and upon his retirement on May 15, 1981 he received the Certificate of Service in recognition of 32 years of dedicated service rendered to the Government of the United States.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Nora Lee Wolfe Comer of Chilhowie, one daughter, Linda Sue Bridgeman and husband, Michael Dean of Marion; two sisters, Mary June Long of Sugar Grove, and Ruth Helen McNeil and husband, Roy of Marion; one brother, Jake Comer and wife, Becky of Atkins; two grandchildren and spouses, Jenny Lee and Matt Christian of Newton, North Carolina and William James and Janet Bridgeman of Abingdon; several nieces and nephews; and specials friends, Lois Meade and Sherri and Steve Whitely.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
