MARION, VIRGINIA: WILLIAM EVERETTE HAYES, age 89, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. Born January 9, 1919 to the late Peyton and Fannie Pennington Hayes, he retired from the Laurel Springs Dairy after 47 years of service and was a long time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ethel P. "Ett" Hayes, and two brothers and seven sisters. He is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law, Doug and Glenda Hayes of Springfield, Missouri, Don and Betty Jo Hayes, Gene Hayes, Gerald and Patty Hayes, and Duane and Sharon Hayes all of Marion, Virginia; One brother and sister-in-law, Forest and Eva Hayes of Sugar Grove, Virginia; Two brothers-in-law, Sherman Brown and Bob Pennington and wife, Georgia; Three sisters-in-law, Dean Johnson and husband, Crick, Kitty Anderson and husband, Curtis, and Merchie Pennington. Eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephew also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Ron Irig, Pastor David Tripp, and Rev. Harry Howe officiating. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Cemetery, Konnarock, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
