MARION, VIRGINIA: William "Bill" McClure, age 79, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Smyth County Community Hospital.
Bill was born August 17, 1930 to the late Bob and Winnie Sheets McClure in West Virginia. He served the Town of Chilhowie as a police officer and Public Works Superintendent for over 40 years, as well as having many other jobs.
Bill is survived by his wife Edna Sue McClure of Marion, Virginia; one son, Robert McClure of Marion, Virginia; two sisters, Carolyn Blevins of Suffolk, Virginia and Charlotte Booger of Charlottesville, Virginia; two granddaughters, Tara Lackey and Amber McClure; three great-grandchildren, Greyson, Carter and Julia; many special nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11:00a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Private Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00a.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
