MARION, Va.

William Harold "Bill" Musser, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his home.

Bill was a loving husband to Patsy for 50 years and a loving father figure to Rick and Greg. Mr. Musser enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He became a Christian and started being a fisher of men. Bill loved his family, his God and his country. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He served three tours in Germany, two in Korea, one in Okinawa, and two in Vietnam. He was highly decorated with a Purple Heart and two Bronze Star Medals for Valor just to name a few. He left the service after 22 years, a true American Hero. When he wasn't doing church work or hunting, he loved gathering with family for a home cooked meal or hanging out at Shoney's in Bristol. Bill Musser will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Dora Musser; sister, Pauline Kirk; brothers, David Musser and Otto Musser.

Bill is survived by his wife, Patsy Dolinger Musser; sister, Judy Barbre, both of Marion, Va.; half-sister, Dorothy Moon of Wash.; brother-in-law, James Kirk of Christiansburg, Va.; several nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by Ricky and Amy Billings; Gregory and Tammy Perkins; grandchildren, Amber Williams, Emmy Billings, Riley Perkins and Amanda Perkins; great grandson, Brendan Williams; special friends, Brenda and Earl Griffey, Willie Sherwood; Dickie Tilson, Jim Rosenbaum, and Neal Dempsey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 8p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church with Pastor Arthur Chapman, Pastor Otis Barker and Ricky Billings officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11a.m. at West Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:45a.m. at the cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church.
