ZANE THOMPSON MALOYED, age 57 died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home in Saltville, Va. He was born on June 8, 1959 in Kansas City, Kan.
Zane was a family man who always placed his family first! He was crazy about his grandchildren and they loved their “Papaw.” You may have tried, and his son-in-law Daniel did, however, you would never out log or out weld Zane! He loved his work, and it was evident but, he was happiest spending time with his family!
Zane was preceded in death by his aunt, Doris Swanson.
Family remaining to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jamie Blackburn and husband, Daniel, of Marion, Va.; his parents, Wyle and Dorothy Maloyd; sisters, Tamara Madden and husband, Michael, and Pamela Jean Blain and husband, Ross, all of Pennsylvania; brother, Alan Maloyed and wife, Kate, also of Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren, Calie, Taylor and Colton Blackburn, all of Marion; special friends, June-Bug Carter and Michael Doane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Ridgedale United Methodist Church, 1112 Ridgedale Rd., Saltville, Va. at 2 p.m., with Rev. Gary Trout and Rev. Mack Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Ridgedale United Methodist Church.
