Zigrida Klamert

d. May 18, 2012

VALLEY VIEW, OHIO: ZIGRIDA (GRUZITIS) KLAMERT was born in the province of Aluksne in Northeastern Latvia in 1933. She was the second oldest daughter and is survived by her three loving sisters, Mirdza (Mitzi), Aina and Maija. Her family fled Latvia as the Russian front moved West during World War II. The family endured many hardships over the next few years and only because of the determination of her parents, Karlis and Lilija Gruzitis, and their solid faith in Christ, did they all survive the war. After reaching a displaced persons camp in Germany, they received sponsorship from a Lutheran minister in Marion, Virginia and came to America in 1949. Zigrida completed her high school degree in Marion, Virginia and after the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, she received her nursing degree and worked as a surgical nurse at University Hospitals. She was married in 1958 to Vincent Klamert and raised three loving children, Anita, Dinah and Daniel. She is survived also by five grandchildren who were the delight of her life: Lindsay, Ryan, Jack, Amelia and Charles. She was widowed in 2011. As her health failed in recent years, she was lovingly cared for in her own home by her devoted sisters and children. Her most enduring legacy will be her love for God and steadfast faith in her savior, Jesus Christ. She showed her family unconditional love and with a faith that could move mountains, was constantly seeking God in prayer and lifting up those she loved. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Attoway Cemetery, Marion, Virginia with Reverend Andrew Bansemer officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the Klamert Family.
